Managing your template list

It is up to you how you want to manage your templates. Review the following considerations, which may make the management of your templates easier.

• Legacy templates.

  You may want to keep all of them as a visual history of changes, or delete them to keep your template list current and uncluttered. The choice is yours. If you do keep old templates and those templates are superseded by new ones, just make sure to disable them.

• Naming your templates.

  Consider adding the device type and group in the template name for quicker identification.

• Groups and templates.

  One group, one template per model - devices in the same group and model type can only be controlled by one active template at a time, but mixed-model groups can each have their own template. See How templates and groups work together.
