Workflow | Managing subscriptions

This workflow walks you through the full lifecycle of a subscription in Digi Remote Manager- from purchase through renewal.

Purchase a subscription.

Purchase a subscription (such as a device-based plan like WAN bonding or a user-based plan like DANI) through your reseller. Each purchase becomes its own subscription entry in Digi Remote Manager, with its own license count and renewal date, even if you already hold another subscription of the same type purchased at a different time.

Review what you're licensed for.

In the main menu, review the summary cards on the Subscriptions page for an account-wide view: licenses expiring within 30 or 90 days, the current renewal window, estimated renewal cost, and your renewal plan status. Then review each subscription's details page for specific information about that subscription.

Assign devices or users.

Once you know what's available, assign licenses to devices and/or users.

Monitor usage and subscription expirations on an ongoing basis.

Return to the Subscriptions page periodically to:

Plan renewals ahead of time.

When licenses are approaching their renewal date, select the relevant subscriptions and add them to your renewal plan. Choose a timeframe, decide whether to include unassigned licenses, and review the estimated cost. This builds a renewal plan you can review or export. This renewal plan doesn't renew anything or change assignments, so it's a safe way to plan ahead of a purchase decision. Export a renewal plan to your computer.

Reallocate licenses as needs change.

If a device or user no longer needs a license, unassign it. Unassigned licenses return to the pool and become available to assign elsewhere, including to a different device or user, as long as it's covered by that same subscription.

Renew or purchase additional licenses.

When you're ready to act on a renewal plan, or when you need more capacity than you currently hold, contact your reseller. New purchases appear as new subscription entries, tracked separately from earlier ones with their own renewal dates, so repeat the above steps as your subscriptions grow.
