Configure SureLink tests for the interfaces participating in the WAN bonding tunnel

You can validate the interface connections that are participating in the WAN bonding connection by configuring SureLink tests, as well as actions to be taken if those tests fail.

  1. Log in to Digi Remote Manager as an administrator.

  2. Navigate to the device's Settings menu.

  3. On the Settings menu that displays, expand Network > SD-WAN > WAN bonding > SureLink.

  4. Click the toggle to enable this feature.

  5. (Optional) For Test interval, change the period of time that occurs between tests. Default is 15m.

  6. (Optional) For Success condition, change how many tests must pass for SureLink testing to be considered successful. The default is One test passes.

  7. (Optional) For Pass threshold, change how many times every test must pass before WAN bonding is connected and working. The default is 1.

  8. (Optional) For Response timeout, change the maximum allowed time SureLink is to wait for each test response. The default is 15s.

  9. Click to expand the Tests menu.

  10. Click to add a new SureLink test.

The new test is enabled by default.

  11. (Optional) For Label, type a name to identify the test.

  12. For Test type, select the type of network test to perform.

Tip Depending on the Test type you chose, new settings may display.

  13. (Optional) Change the type-specific setting default values, if needed.

  14. Click to expand the Recovery actions menu.

You can add as many recovery actions as needed to the SureLink test.

  1. Click to add a new recovery action.

Note The Change default gateway and Restart interface actions are already configured by default. Click the Recovery actions 1 or Recovery actions 2 menus to see their settings. Any new recovery action you add is also enabled by default and a new menu appears (Recovery actions 3 menu and so on).

  2. (Optional) For Label, type a name to identify the new recovery action.

  3. For Recovery type , select the type of recovery action to perform.

Tip Depending on the Recovery type you chose, new settings may display.

  4. (Optional) Modify the recovery-specific settings that may appear for the recovery type you selected.

  5. (Optional) For SureLink test failures, type the number of failures that must occur for a particular test before the recovery action begins. Default is 3.

  6. (optional) For Test interval between SureLink tests for this action, type the time interval between the tests before the action is taken. Default is 0s.

Note If you change the value, then this time interval overrides the time interval defined in the SureLink test. If the default value is 0s, then the SureLink test value is used.

  7. Click to expand the Advanced settings menu.

  8. (Optional) For Delayed start, change the maximum amount of time to wait after system start-up for WAN bonding to obtain an IP address before SureLink begins monitoring. The default is 300s.
