About artificial intelligence integration
AI
Artificial Intelligience integration with Digi Remote Manager enables customers, partners, and MSP
Managed Service Providers to connect AI assistants and agents directly to their accounts using the Digi MCP
Model Context Protocol server. This integration provides a secure, standards-based way to interact with device fleets, telemetry, alerts, and operational workflows using natural language or automated processes without building custom API integrations.
The Digi MCP server is a hosted, Digi-managed service that exposes Digi Remote Manager capabilities in an AI-native format. You can then choose how to interact with your environment using an AI assistant, either with DANI or an external assistant such as Claude, ChatGPT, or a custom-built solution.
Whether you use DANI or another option, the MCP server is the foundation and provides access to the underlying Digi Remote Manager capabilities.
-
Developers and AI agent builders
-
Build AI agents or automation workflows on top of Digi Remote Manager
-
Integrate MCP into custom applications or platforms
-
Focus on scalability, automation, and reducing integration effort
-
-
Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and partners
-
Manage device fleets across multiple customer accounts
-
Use AI to automate monitoring, reporting, and support workflows
-
May build customer-facing AI solutions or dashboards
-
-
Network engineers, administrators, and technical support teams
-
Use AI assistants (Claude, ChatGPT, DANI, etc.) for day-to-day operations
-
Query device status, troubleshoot issues, and analyze fleet data
-
Prefer natural-language interaction over navigating the UI
-
AI integration follows a simple connection model:
-
Digi hosts an MCP server at https://remotemanager.digi.com/mcp.
-
You generate an API key in Digi Remote Manager.
-
An MCP-compatible AI client connects to the MCP server over HTTPS using the API key.
-
The AI assistant automatically discovers available Digi Remote Manager tools.
-
Your prompts or agent workflows invoke those tools to retrieve data or perform supported operations.
All security, authentication, rate limiting, and updates are managed by Digi. No customer-hosted infrastructure is required.
After setup, you can choose how to interact with Digi Remote Manager:
-
External AI Assistants
Users can connect MCP-compatible AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or custom-built AI agents. This approach is ideal for:
-
Building custom automation workflows
-
Integrating DRM data into broader systems
-
Creating tailored AI-driven operational tools
-
-
Digi Artificial Network Intelligence
DANI is Digi’s native AI assistant designed specifically for Digi Remote Manager. It provides:
-
Out-of-the-box AI access with minimal configuration
-
Guided interaction tailored to Digi workflows and terminology
-
A simplified experience for day-to-day operations and troubleshooting
-
Both options use the same MCP server connection and access the same underlying platform capabilities.
Once connected, you can use natural language or automation to:
-
Query device inventory and connection status
-
Identify offline or unhealthy devices
-
Retrieve cellular signal metrics and telemetry
-
Access event logs and audit history
-
Review alerts, monitors, and automation workflows
-
Summarize fleet health, firmware status, and compliance
-
Perform supported device and operational actions
In simple terms
AI assistant integration connects AI tools, like DANI, to Digi Remote Manager using the MCP server. This lets you ask questions, automate tasks, and manage devices using natural language, without building custom integrations.
