Use case | Configure global and site specific settings in a CSV text file
You are configuring a template. You've created a group, added your five devices, and associated the group with the template. You're on the Settings tab in the template wizard and you have imported the settings from another template or a device.
You have gone through all the settings and determined that out of the ones you want controlled by the template, two in the System configuration need to be device specific: Contact and Location.
For the Contact setting, each device has its own unique contact so you would select the parameter. You will add the contact information for each device in the CSV text file.
For the Location setting, only two devices need a unique location so you would select the Allow site specific settings. You add the global location setting (for example 786568), which is the value all of the devices will use for location, except the two you are going to identify in the CSV.
You download and open the CSV text file.
In the Contact column, add the unique Contact value for each device (for example, Fisher, Simms...). In this instance, there would be a unique value in every cell of the Contact column. There would be no empty cells.
In the Location column, you add the unique Location value (for example, 123456 and 789101) for the two devices. The rest of the cells are empty.
Save the CSV text file and upload it to the template.
