About network slicing
Network slicing is a network configuration that allows for virtual networks - called slices - to be created on a single, physical 5G cellular network infrastructure. Using 5G network slicing means that your DAL OS routers can route traffic through multiple, independent slices simultaneously. Those slices can be tailored to meet the specific requirements of different applications or services, ensuring that they operate efficiently and effectively. You will be able to optimize resource allocation, enhance service quality, and achieve greater flexibility in managing diverse network demands.
Key features
-
Multiple network slice support
You can have up to 8 slices per SIM card (carrier permitting).
-
Customize the set up
Assign interfaces to network slices and manually set routing preferences.
-
Network slice type differentiator options
Choose from embedded, low latency, massive IoT, or custom-defined network slice types.
-
Fully integrated with Digi Remote Manager
Enhanced UI and dashboard tools display active slice connections, helping monitor and manage deployments in real time.
-
Automatic slice detection
DAL OS routers detect at connection time the type of slice configurations the carrier supports and reports this information, which allows for quicker validation and troubleshooting of the 5G slices that you have configured
