Reboot your IX10 device

You can reboot the IX10 device immediately or schedule a reboot for a specific time every day.

Note You may want to save your configuration settings to a file before rebooting. See Save configuration to a file.

Reboot your device immediately

To reboot your device immediately:

  1. Choose the management interface you want to use to access your device. Click a dropdown for instructions.

    1. Log in to Digi Remote Manager.

    1. Navigate to the device's dashboard.

    1. Log in to your device's Web UI.

    Log in to your device's Admin CLI via an SSH client, Telnet client, or terminal emulator.

  2. Configure the settings.

    1. Click to open the device's configuration menu.

      • In Digi Remote Manager, on the device dashboard, click Settings.

      • In the Web UI, click Device Configuration.

    2. Log into the WebUI as a user with full Admin access rights.

    3. From the main menu, click Reboot.

      The Reboot window displays.

    4. Click Reboot again to confirm that you want to reboot the device.
    1. At the prompt, type:
      > reboot

Schedule reboots of your device

To schedule reboots:

  1. Choose the management interface you want to use to access your device. Click a dropdown for instructions.

    1. Log in to Digi Remote Manager.

    1. Navigate to the device's dashboard.

    1. Log in to your device's Web UI.

    Log in to your device's Admin CLI via an SSH client, Telnet client, or terminal emulator.

  2. Configure the settings.

    1. Click to open the device's configuration menu.

      • In Digi Remote Manager, on the device dashboard, click Settings.

      • In the Web UI, click Device Configuration.

    2. Select System > Scheduled tasks.
    3. For Reboot time, enter the time of the day that the device should reboot, using the format HH:MM. The device will reboot at this time every day.

      4. If Reboot time is set, but the device is unable to synchronize its time with an NTP server, the device will reboot after it has been up for 24 hours. See System time synchronization for information about configuring NTP servers. If Reboot window is set, the reboot will occur during a random time within the reboot window.

    4. For Reboot window, enter the maximum random delay that will be added to Reboot Time.

      Allowed values are any number of hours, minutes, or seconds, and take the format number{h|m|s}.

      For example, to set parameter name to ten minutes, enter 10m or 600s.

      The default is 10m, and the maximum allowed time is 24h.
    5. Click Apply to save the configuration and apply the change.

    1. At the CLI prompt, type config and then press Enter.

    2. Set the reboot time:
      (config>> system schedule reboot_time time
(config)>

      where time is the time of the day that the device should reboot, using the format HH:MM. For example, the set the device to reboot at two in the morning every day:

      (config>> system schedule reboot_time 02:00
(config)>

      3. If reboot_time is set, but the device is unable to synchronize its time with an NTP server, the device will reboot after it has been up for 24 hours. See System time synchronization for information about configuring NTP servers. If reboot_window is set, the reboot will occur during a random time within the reboot window.

    3. Set the maximum random delay that will be added to reboot_time:
      (config>> system schedule reboot_window value

      where value is any number of hours, minutes, or seconds, and takes the format number{h|m|s}.

      For example, to set reboot_window to ten minutes, enter either 10m or 600s:

      (config)> system schedule reboot_window 600s

    4. Save the configuration and apply the change.
      (config)> save

    5. Type exit to exit the Admin CLI.

      Depending on your device configuration, you may be presented with an Access selection menu. Type quit to disconnect from the device.
